Boys’ Life October 2020 Preview

Boys’ Life magazine helps your Scouting unit and your Scouts excel. Research shows that boys and girls who subscribe advance further, spend more time outdoors and stay in Scouting longer than those who don’t. Plus, Boys’ Life helps start your youth on the path to becoming lifelong readers. Today’s readers are tomorrow’s leaders!

Here’s a sample of what you’ll find in the October issue.

Following their footsteps

Hike along with Troop 500 from San Diego as Scouts learn about the Mormon Battalion, which completed one of the greatest military treks in American history. Learn how to make ash cakes, an authentic trail snack from the 1840s. Also, find out the awards your Scouts can earn if they plan a similar hike.

A scary-fun time

Tulsa boys Troop 26 and girls Troop 126 welcome Webelos Scouts to a Halloween-themed weekend of fun, including pumpkin-carving, costumes and a spooky movie. There are also plenty of Scouting skills imparted to the Webelos. This issue of Boys’ Life features tips on carving the perfect jack-o’-lantern, too.
