See how it feels to be trapped in an avalanche and saved by a rescue dog.
With more than 250 trails at Big Sky Resort in southwestern Montana, cold-weather safety and precautions are important. Dogs are used to sniff out anyone buried in snow. They alert rescuers who dig out those who need rescuing.
Nathan from Troop 469 got to experience this kind of rescue in a ski patrol simulation. Check out what happens in the video.

WOW! Can’t even imagine what it would be like to be buried under snow! after an avalanche. Every year I postpone my Everest expedition ambition due to fear of avalanches at the glacier Khumbu Ice fall. Do they use rescue dogs in Everest expeditions? probably the altitude is too much for dogs to survive?
