Come Sail Away at Sea Base This Summer

When it comes to exploring everything the coast of Florida and the nearby waters of the Gulf of Mexico have to offer, there’s no better option than Florida National High Adventure Sea Base.

One of the four national BSA high-adventure bases, Sea Base is an aquatics-lover’s dream, with options for sailing, scuba, fishing, canoeing and island-style camping.

Looking for some fun in the sun (and the water) this summer? Sea Base has the answer.

Even better news? There are still a few openings for 2021.

Scuba, Scuba and More Scuba

One of the best ways to explore the underwater world is scuba diving, and Sea Base has multiple scuba options.

If you’re already a certified diver, we recommend the Scuba Adventure — with as many as 11 dives and overnight stays in air-conditioned dorm rooms — or the Scuba Live Aboard program — where you spend 24 hours a day for eight days on a sailing vessel.

If you aren’t yet certified, the Scuba Certification program can get you there with professional PADI instructions and dive masters.

Come Sail Away

If you’re more comfortable spending your time on the water instead of in it, Sea Base offers multiple sailing options.

The Coral Reef Sailing program offers the opportunity for your crew to make itself at home for a week on a 40-foot-plus sailing vessel. You’ll study astronomy and navigation, and learn about the ecology of the coral reef system.

Speaking of science, the STEM Eco Sailing adventure focuses even more on the study of underwater wildlife and ecosystems.

“But what about the Bahamas?” you might be thinking. “What about St. Thomas and St. Croix?” you might ask. Sea Base has them covered, too, with multiple sailing, snorkeling, kayaking and fishing options.
