Thousands of Scouts and Scouters tuned in for a day of virtual fun May 2 as the Boy Scouts of America hosted a National Camp-In on its Facebook page.
With the COVID-19 pandemic forcing people to stay home, Scouting families pitched tents in their backyards and followed along with the day’s activities, which included interviews with an astronaut and moviemakers, delicious recipes and craft tutorials. Scouts were also encouraged to participate in a virtual 5K around their neighborhoods to benefit Feeding America. Because of Scouts’ and Scouters’ efforts that day, $102,636 was raised to support hunger relief.
More than 40,000 people reserved patches for the unique event, which are available now in limited supply. Click here to buy yours directly.
You can also watch videos from the Camp-In below. Check in later as we upload more from the all-day extravaganza.
