Head ’em up and move ’em out to West Texas for a weeklong adventure on horseback. The Cavalcade treks each summer pair trained wranglers with crews of 10 riders (eight youths and two adults). You’ll saddle up for a 30- to 45-mile journey through the rugged Davis Mountains. Prefer an activity that lets you keep both feet on the ground? Try one of these:
– A Mountain Man program for older Scouts and Venturers to experience the 1840s fur-trade era, complete with black-powder rifles, fishing, and stories around the campfire.
– The 1900s-era Circle H Ranching Adventure, a week of cowboy skills like caring for livestock, living off the land, and chuck-wagon cooking.
